The Pimali Story …..

The Pimali Foundation is dedicated to fight the exploitation of disadvantaged youth and reducing poverty in the northeastern region of Thailand. Founded in 2012, Pimali is the brainchild of Stéphanie Des Arts-Loup. Together with her husband Alexandre, they decided to leave successful corporate careers in Switzerland to set up a foundation which would provide training in hospitality training in Isan, one of Thailand’s poorest provinces.

The name PIMALI comes from the nickname given to Stéphanie, when she arrived to work as a volunteer at the Sarnelli House orphanage in Nong Khai. The name comes from the Thai word “pi”, meaning older sister and “mali”, the Thai word for jasmine flower which is often used as a welcome gift.

What do we do……

Pimali offers hands-on hospitality training to disadvantaged youth and orphans who have completed their compulsory education in Thailand. The aim is to help these young people secure a professional future in the hospitality / tourism industry and achieve their financial independence.
